SMILE!! God loves you!
SMILE!! is an old chain letter that features an image of a dog grinning that threatens the receiver with nightmares and death if they do not spread the email.
There are many variants of the letter itself, with the earliest being from the early 90s on USENET.
This chain letter actually seems to be pretty obscure, although persistent. It's particularly well known in occult groups. Personally, I think this is just because every other chain letter is just a different dead little girl who's gonna' kill you.
Due to being in circulation so long, the image has degraded significantly.
The left image is the main one that's being circulated these days, although I've received a few reports from readers lately that have shown a different polaroid-style image. Points for creativity, anyway.
