PARANORMALPRICKHEADS.COM

Its gone too far. We need to figure out a means of containing this thing as quickly as possible.

It is contained, Murph. That's not the problem anymore.

What we need to do now is seriously consider restricting our information about the basilisk. Make sure this never happens again.

yeah. get rid of it

It's only after we do that that we can focus on wrangling up the forum users who were for sure affected. We have access to the IPs of the visitors to that post that we can cross-reference with site data to get a user list.

Hey Will.

sup

We have to be clear with them, and quick, get them to wipe their browser caches and delete the image if they saved it for some ungodly reason.

If even one low-willpower dumbass caves, it could be a global disaster.

Nooo! We can't remove the pages! What if it does become a big thing? It's pretty likely even in a best case scenario!

We can be the resource to help people as long as we just remove the big infection criteria stuff, like the spooky sigil...

becca I get that u like this kind of stuff but its too real for me. we have to remove it now

No!! No no no!!! I do not like this actually! Don't start this now Will, these migraines have me REAL CRANKY!!!

oh yeah then what are you gonna do? huh

I can fold you into a little chain letter envelope and send you to Santa Claus! I even know the mailing address. It's Santa Claus North Pole H0H 0H0 Canada

ok and thats still far less scary than what's actually going on

Both of you stop arguing for the love of god. Look, I doubt what GM is suggesting is just deleting the pages. We'll just take the sensitive stuff offline. I already have a local backup for everything.

If Plan A fails, which is preventative, then we can talk about being a resource.

It's just not worth it to risk it. This basilisk is sentient and we don't know what its pattern is. That's the problem with these things being real- you have to stop thinking about demons and more about ideas.

There are few clean solutions. Luckily, since we're at the scale of a fairly niche internet forum, we can still attempt cleanup under our material logistics.

Actually, thinking on it more, I get what Rebecca was trying to say better. The existing forum users will need these resources. Maybe what we can do is restrict what IP ranges can access the sensitive pages.

Maybe something like throwing up a little message saying the site was abandoned on the index.

I think that works! We'll be like a secret society AND a support group!

It's still dangerous. We can't keep anything known to be infectious hosted if we can help it. All it takes is one user to get sloppy with clearing their cache, and it could slip into a file upload they make elsewhere.

There aren't any better options.

I didn't shut down the idea.

wait

why cant we just delete all the files and leave it lol
