The Bisected King
A recent belief that a man caught between the immaterial and physical worlds will come to lose himself and usurp The Beast.
The Bisected King is a concept in a few sects of modern occultism which has grown feverishly popular in recent years. It implies that The Beast will be usurped in Hell at some point before the end of days. He seeks to cause suffering to last eternally rather than bringing it all to an end. The nature of The Beast is self-destructive, which poses great threat to the self-concerned.
Being a sort of dark saviour, the Bisected King is able to interact with both the physical plane and aphysical due to his unique position. This allows the easy spread of influence in both worlds in an attempt to subvert fate. The human half is not fully aware of the influence of the demonic half, though, posing some slight roadblocks to direct action.
Some prophecy is interpreted as implying that the King is currently alive, and split anywhere between the 1980s and present day. It's the relevancy of current time that draws many in, as well as the thought of humanity gaining power- twisted as it may be in execution. Stories of the King are very new though and hold little longstanding relevance, with the earliest traces of his myth coming from early 19th century texts. It's hard to pin down the explanation for how the King was supposed to have split, but these early writings mention convoluted descriptions of shifts in time rippling out due to the approaching end of days, allowing a mad boy to occasionally slip into the world of Hell.
